I can’t believe it’s already December.  Christmas is around the corner. It seems like Thanksgiving was just the other day.  This is my FAVORITE time of year! I’ve been longing for December, but this time it feels different.  My usual excitement is not quite there. What is the problem? I’ve been telling myself that the lack of motivation will change the closer we get to Christmas. Yet, something is missing.

Every year I arrange a 12 Days of Christmas Activity sheet. For the 12 days leading to Christmas, I arrange different Christmas themed activities. This includes adding a stocking stuffer for each day. These activities help to make the season feel longer, to make some memories, and add traditions to our little family. To bring some excitement for our children one day.

The house is decorated for Christmas, but we still don’t have everything we need.  There’s no need for more decorations, even though there can always be more!  More lights, more Christmas trees, more yard inflatables…. Our children would love to have the best decorated house in the neighborhood…one day.

My retreat while at home, is our upstairs. In our movie room and game room, I listen to music and watch the shows I like. It’s a fun and relaxing area for me to have my own space. Since my favorite Christmas character is the Grinch, upstairs is my Mount Crumpit. For Christmas I decorate it with all things Grinch. My own green escape. This will be an exciting space for my children to enjoy and decorate how they want…one day.

Christmas is an important time for me and my husband. This year, we both feel the emptiness. “For unto us a child is born“…one day.
